Unlike others in this excellent series, this work by Thomas Case is a complete but short treatise on the important subject of suffering. Classic Puritan stuff, Case gives 21 (yes, 21!) reasons why God brings suffering into the life of a Christian. And he is not done then but continues to explore the subject before closing with appropriate and helpful application. This is a tiny book but it would well bear many hours of study, brimful with excellent pastoral teaching as it is.
