One of those handy 1960s guidebooks, lacking in colour and feeling like a sponge rather than book but full of folk tale information likely to put you right off going anywhere near Clitheroe at all: devil on horseback, devil throwing stones, boggarts, fairies galore - not forgetting haridans and witches.
