Buddy Read with Elizabeth from Crazies R Us! Love you my Shhlutty friend!

Can we talk about cover lust?! Swoon!

Terra is frustrated with always being judged by her family name and tired of the expectations being a mafia heiress comes with. When Michael Tripp in his expensive suit saves her and her louboutins from a bad situation she finds she can't get the handsome man out of her mind. He's a bad man, he's not show more looking for something more and she's a good girl, she doesn't want the bad anymore. The sparks fly though and the two find themselves giving in to their feelings, all while covering up the secrets they know could break them apart. When the truths are revealed will they still be able to stand together as one?

"Does he know you're a mafia princess?" I shook my head emphatically. "No."

Terra is much more than a mafia princess, in fact she's got a lot of spunk, but she's lacking trust and direction in her life. Michael is handsome, well-dressed, and...wait for it...a good guy. Yep, throw all your bad assumptions out the window, because Michael is going to woo you with his loyalty, his friendship, his sexual expertise, and his good looks and maybe a hint of his bad boy capabilities with his marine background and gun runner technicques. Michael brings a spark to Terra's life andmakes her want for something more. I really enjoyed both these characters, particularly what they brought out in eachother. They had a lot of secrets, things from their past that shaped them, and as they opened up to one another we got to see a different side to them than just the heiress and the gun runner. While Terra's life is just floating by and Michael's is non-stop action, together they find passion, adventure, and an emotional bond they cannot deny. This is one of the most realistic relationships that I've read from Scott and I gotta hand it to him, they might be my new favorite.

"No half-ass nothing. You are fucking fun runner, Tripp. The Gun Runner."

The Gun Runner is an action-packed book, both in terms of guns and mafia activity, but also smut and emotional dialogue. The book is told in dual POV from both main characters, allowing the reader an in depth look at their life when separated and together. There's also an incredible cast of secondary characters that you won't be able to shake, from the hilarious best friends to the secretive family members. The plot definitely winds deep and is perfectly set up for more books in the series. I know I am sitting on pins and needles waiting on the next book, because some of the twists Scott Hildreth ended the book with made me desperate for more. If you enjoy Scott's special brand of romance and storytelling, you won't want to miss the engaging and suspenseful The Gun Runner, book one in the Mafia Made series.

There is something to be said about a book that stays fresh in your mind a week after reading it, even more so if it has stayed on your mind after some seriously stressful life stuff. The Gun Runner was that book for me this week and it is definitely deserving of these 5 stars.

Pee Bee cares about a few things, his family, his brothers, and his bike. When a nutty girl who doesn't swear causes him to wreck his precious bike he doesn't offer any sympathy, just expects her to pay up and maybe spread her legs too. When the same girl shows up to care for his ailing father he has no faith, but with a quick show of strength Tegan pushes her way into his life. Pee Bee's father, Brad, brings about a change in Tegan and over time in Pee Bee too. Brad's wisdom and show more relationship with Tegan causes Pee Bee to open his eyes and his heart to the girl he never expected to like as more than just another notch on his bedpost.

"I never did one thing with a woman that I was proud of. Now? Now I can’t imagine doing anything to you but treating you with respect.” He shrugged. “Give me a chance?” I stood up. “Let’s give it a try.”

The Filthy F*ckers MC may be well known and have a bit of a reputation, but the men who make up the brotherhood are much more than what first meets the eye. Take Pee Bee for example, he's the biggest guy in the MC and he doesn't take crap from anyone, but he's got a sweet heart, a ton of respect, and a family he loves. He transforms as the story unfolds, becoming a man his father is proud of as he discovers humility and grows to understand true romance and love. Tegan, the girl who kicks off this transformation, is witty, determined, and one of the funniest Hildreth heroines to date. With her beat up car, good looks, giving nature, and unyielding strength she changes the entire way Pee Bee looks at the world. The characters are easy to relate to and I felt like I was experiencing everything alongside them. Pee Bee and Tegan's relationship is anything but cliche, yet it flowed so naturally with their passion. Then there's their friends and family members, who are colorful additions to an already well-crafted relationship. Pee Bee's dad brings wisdom and hilarious dialogue, while Tegan's best friend brings out the real Tegan behind her tough exterior. I loved the brotherhood between the guys in the Filthy F*ckers MC and it was so cool to see them interacting with other MC's. For me, this book focused on relationships and how they make up a person, how each person helps form you into the man or woman that you are. It was very easy to see that this book came from Scott's heart and as a long time fan, I can agree that this is his best book.

“The same wise man once told me, when you know, you just know."

I had high expectations going into ROUGH, I mean really high expectations, and Scott Hildreth delivered above and beyond them. I loved the book from start to finish and I laughed a lot, but I also cried and had so many feelings. ROUGH is the second standalone release from Scott Hildreth's Filthy F*ckers MC series, but I highly suggest reading HARD first. The book is full of witty dialog, comedic moments, realistic life situations, and the kind of romance that makes you have butterflies. It's original, entertaining, and deserving of far more than 5 stars.

Ah....I can't even think of enough words to tell you how much I enjoyed this book.

Older woman/younger man.....and it's not a cougar kind of older woman. Just a divorced woman, making it on her own who just hasn't met a man who made her want to take a chance. Kimberly has a little money (but it comes at the price of losing her parents) and a shoe boutique but it's not her passion.

Cash is the muscle of the MC. He reacts first, thinks later....and that's not always a good thing. Going with your show more gut has advantages but there's always that one time.

It's not to say their road to HEA wasn't with out some rough times, a break up and devastating news for Kimberly. But when two people are friends in addition to lovers there is nothing to hold them back.

And FYI....Jennifer, Kimberly's neighbor and BFF is friggin' hilarious! She's a 52 yr old divorcee with the mind of a 17 yr old boy. I didn't know whether I wanted to choke her or just sit here and LMAO.

Tito and Reggie, great couple with intellect, humor and chemistry.

It's the end of the road for the Devil's Disciples and how does Scott Hildreth do it? By giving us this story. He's part of an MC who robs folks (mostly bad guys), takes care of drug dealers, rapists and other evil types. She is the daughter of the detective out to find the allusive "gang" who's been committing serious robberies over the last 15 years.

Reggie is in a league all her own. She finds out her boyfriend cheated on show more her with a stripper (that he knew) and he's out. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. She warns him, you leave anything I will set it on fire. Think Angela Bassett in Waiting to Exhale...now car involved but what a lovely little bonfire in the backyard, with a bottle of wine in one hand and a steak knife in the other.

Tito has been feeling uneasy. He senses it's time to call it quits before they get caught. With everyone pairing up and in some cases starting families they have a lot more to lose than when the first started. But how to bring it up to his brothers. He's fallen hard and fast for Reggie but he knows "this one last job" had better be it, he won't chance his future with her.

Now interesting was the conversation and relationship that built between Tito and her father, Ted. Daddy tells her right away any biker who works managing a few car washes is up to no good. Everyone knows those car washes are just a front to launder dirty money. She doesn't buy it but you cringe thinking....oh sh*t, he's so close to the truth.

As the relationship grows and we find out more about Tito's neighbors Hap and his son Braxton we see Tito has a good, strong secondary family. Hap is funny and an all knowing "wise ass old man". Braxton, now his profession is complicated but comes in very handy. I also believe he needs his own book.

I won't give away the ending, you need to read that for yourself. I will say that if you have read the series you know that Cash can be a HUGE pain in the ass. Well this time proves no different but what he does when it looks like he might have made a mistake that will cost all of them their freedom...I wanted to hug the a**hole and tell him NO!

It's a good ending to a good series. I'll revisit this MC from time to time.
