Adam Marek breaks Rol's First Rule of being a Published Author - namely 'Thou Shalt Not Be Born After 1972' (otherwise known as the 'Thou Shalt Not Be Younger Than I Am' commandment). That aside, his first collection - Instruction Manual For Swallowing - gives you everything you could want from a modern short story collection. As the blurb has it, Marek "writes tales of the fantastic, the grotesque, and the impossible - all set in familiar, even mundane worlds". Well, I'm sold.
