What started as a month long project to keep their kids amused turned into this charming and laugh out loud funny book. Posed plastic dinosaurs get into a lot of trouble, while the dramatic text is VERY funny to read out loud.
A wonderfully moody and adventurous middle grade Frankenstein retelling. Frances is a young girl who’s cooped up in her mansion with an ornery robot tutor and a smart chimpanzee. When she accidentally brings a monster to life and it escapes into the nearby town, she must gather her all her resources and allies to retrieve him. This story of magic, new friendships, and surprising twists will be well loved by readers of all ages.
I'm not going to rate this because although I was disappointed by this book, that's because it wasn't what I was expecting, not because of the quality of the book. I followed Dinovember online for several years and really enjoyed it so when I saw they had made a book, I was excited - I thought it was going to be a collection of all the funny photos they had compiled over the years. However it turned out to be a block book for young children with a story about dinosaurs coming to life, where show more there are actually not that many pictures and the way they are laid out they are not even the main focus. So, basically I was expecting this to be a photo comic book adults could enjoy (and kids too) and it was actually a proper story picture book to read to children, so not really relevant to me. I'm sure it is great if you have kids though. show less
Dinosaurs are up to mischief! In Refe and Susan Tuma's book, toy dinosaurs are creating a mess in the house. In a series of photographs, the toy dinosaurs are seen in different rooms and settings. In the end, the dinosaurs seem to have gone away, but have they? Children, grades k-2, will enjoy look at the details of the photos. The story ends open ended with expectations of further adventures!

In fact, there are more adventures! The Tuma's have a facebook page and challenge families to show more participate in Dino-vember every November. The story was inspired by their own page with their children and toy dinosaurs. show less
