Fanny McFancy, a whooping crane known throughout town for her stylish sense of fashion, has been invited to an afternoon of tea and oyster éclairs, but she has absolutely nothing to wear, a fashion disaster worthy of a call to the doctor. While resting and gaining back her strength, Fanny suddenly realizes just what she’ll wear – the most bold outfit of all. Delightfully fun and written in rhyme, the story reads in a pleasing cadence. The illustrations and curly cursive font perfectly show more bring to life Fanny’s extravagant taste for life. Young girls who have a “passion for fashion” will adore this whimsical tale where the plot’s main crisis is deciding what to wear. Additionally, this picture book can easily be used in elementary classrooms to spark conversations inner beauty. show less
Well it's no [b:The Monster at the End of this Book|44186|The Monster at the End of this Book (Sesame Street)|Jon Stone|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1388193494s/44186.jpg|640276] but it delighted me. I'm not particularly recommending it... but if you like Grover, know that there are other books featuring him, and your library might still have some of them.
I found this book at a garage sale and had to buy it, despite the fact that I'm pretty sure Mumford isn't on Sesame Street anymore.
So I had to explain "A La Peanut Butter Sandwiches!" to Mini-Me before I read it to her, but she thought it was hilarious and was eager to read the story right away - and wanted a second reading right after that. She especially loved the cameos from Santa, Cookie Monster and Grover. -- Kim, GoodReads
