In my opinion, any book published by David R. Godine is bound to be a treat. After Hutner and Kelly's prefatory notes, the book is largely a bibliography. It was impossible for me not to read a book listing and then look the book up on abebooks.com to see what it would cost me to own the book. With an interest in typography, there are many titles here to salivate over. After the list of one hundred books, there is a section of nice reproductions representing many of the titles in the show more listing. It's much as I remember getting the Sears catalog or the Montgomery Ward catalogs in the mail many years ago. I would start nodding and saying 'oh yes, I want that.' Call it a bibliophile's wish book, or a typophile's wish book. show less
Grolier 75 : a biographical retrospective to celebrate the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Grolier Club in New York by Grolier Club
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The biographies of Grolier Club personalities. all noted men of books, lovers of books. One biography introduced to me the word "bibliophily". Drawing together, these men, embody the singular character upon which the Grolier Club was built.
