When I get ready to read a K.K. Allen book, I make my little reading nest with my warm tea and soothing music and plan a day of absorbing the lovely magic of two people falling in love. Over the Moon was no exception. It is about two opposites who are hiding from life by putting up defenses to keep the hurt at bay. Watching them peel back the layers is so enjoyable and refreshing that I didn't want it to stop.
Ms. Allen does a fantastic job morphing a completely arrogant and selfish asshole show more into a sweet romantic with swoon-worthy gestures that made my heart skip a beat or two. I have to admit his humor and dirty mouth were a plus as well. Kingston's past is sad and lonely and he wears armor to protect himself. He is such a grumpy child at first when he doesn't get his way, but when his crass come-ons and sexual innuendos don't impress a good girl like Silver, he starts to look at his life and changes for the better. I really loved the way Kingston started bonding with the kids at the football camp and how proud and childlike he was about his team.
Silver's life isn't all rosy either. Her life has been a lie for the last eight years and is hiding away on Orcas Island as a camp nurse afraid to be found. She's a workaholic with no love life until one hot NFL defensive end slowly starts breaking down her walls until the game is over.
The sexual tension between Kingston and Silver is off the charts hot. I was counting down the words until they sealed the deal and it was definitely worth waiting for (sigh...). Silver did a good job putting him in his place and holding him off as long as she did which made him reflect on what a shit he was being before.
Silver's best friend Hope is funny and I was rooting for her to get her man, but Anderson Bexley who owns Camp Dakota is clueless about how to woo Hope. I can't wait to read about these two. It was also fun to see Chloe and Gavin from Up In the Treehouse. A wonderful K.K. Allen novel from the BelleCurve series. A series I need to catch up on. I also enjoyed Zach's excitement with the football camp and how it rubbed off on Kingston.
I wholeheartedly recommend this beautifully written love story that will capture your heart and make you want more. It's a book you will not be able to put down.
Thank you to Ms. Allen for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

YES!!!
I love rock star romance almost as much as I love music. Almost. Music, or rather the lyrics, have saved me more times than I can count. Whether it was to overcome a loss, moments of joy, the hardship of betrayal or to help me heal and grow. It is this reason that I am so picky about this genre. It has to be perfect. It needs to soothe my soul after it has invoked all the feels. This book/series did that and then some.
I've got a crazy girl crush on Lyric. She is the embodiment of show more woman juxtaposed with warrior. I cannot help but think of the famous Shakespeare quote, "all though she be but little she is fierce" when I think of Lyric. Sweet Wolf. Holy titfire. There needs to be away of cloning this man. His love and devotion to Lyric is the stuff dreams are made off.
Thank you KK Allen for doing my favorite genre justice. I hope you write more of this in the future. show less

This is an ominous Shakespeareanesque suspense thriller that captured me from the very beginning. It’s about the century-old feud between the Cross and the Bell families, a forbidden love, and a cold-blooded killer.
Camila Bell is a free spirit. A force to be reckoned with. A woman who knows what she wants. And she wants Ridge Cross. But their fathers won’t have it.
All Ridge wants is to find his place in life. Then he meets the untamed and fearless Camila. His kryptonite. His fated love. show more The one he promised he would not leave.
Camila and Ridge’s relationship is passionate and full of heartache. Camila is a refreshingly strong female protagonist who is extremely confident and fiercely loyal. Ridge has a poetic way with words, is a calming presence for the fierce Camilla, and sacrifices their love to save her future. Watching them grow from hopeful teenagers filled with dreams and convictions, to mature and self-confident adults who accomplish so much more is amazing to see. I appreciate that their love is so strong that there is no bitterness and long-drawn-out angst seen in other romance novels.
The supporting characters are a big part of this story. Camila’s mother is key to the lovers’ happiness. Josie is a supportive friend to both Camila and Ridge. And brother and sister, Trip and Raven, are unfortunate to be the pawns and offspring of the arrogant and hated Thomas Bradshaw, right-hand man to Camila’s father.
In the midst of the love story, is a chilling antagonist called “the hunter” who is watching and stalking Camila just waiting for the right moment. A moment that will change her life forever.
This is a fantastic second chance romantic suspense novel that I couldn’t put down and is one of my favorite reads of the year. The twists and turns, secrets, romance, and well-developed characters are a great combination that will draw you in until the shocking end.

I discovered K.K. Allen this year and I can't get enough of her books. They are rich in second chances, angst, loss, betrayal, and forgiveness. Not to mention I always seem to have a good cry once or twice during the course of her stories. Up In the Treehouse was no exception.
Chloe Rivers is a woman who loves with all of her heart and when she's afraid of hurting those she loves, she walks away. But she has returned to her hometown four years later to face the music and the love of her life show more hates her for leaving him to face the heartache and loss by himself. Can she try to make amends and tell him the truth, or will she have to walk away again even more broken than before?
Gavin Rhodes is a kind and generous man who lost so much four years ago on that fateful graduation night. And now she is back and he doesn't know if he can forgive her for leaving him when he needed her most. But he has a secret of his own that may just change the course of their relationship.
It is so unbelievable how one statement...one person...can affect the trajectory of your life. One can't help but root for Chloe and Gavin. As best friends they could change the world and watching them work to keep that foundation so they can build on it is worth the wait. The secrets are bittersweet and when they opened their hearts, my heart burst for them. I understand Gavin's hesitation to accept Chloe back in his life, and my heart breaks for Chloe when she gives Gavin her journal so he can truly see how she felt about him and why his brother was so angry that night.
For supporting characters, we have Jazz and Marco who support Chloe and Gavin in everything they do even though they don't agree with it. Monica is another great supportive friend who has a great sense of humor and a direct approach when it comes to friendly advice, and I can't wait to read her story in book 2 of the series.
I wholeheartedly recommend this second chance love story filled with anguish and hope that will draw you in and make you read it well into the night. In addition, Ms. Allen does a commendable job addressing very real subject matter such as bullying and grieving. show less
