To say that I was honored to be able to read The Last Eligible Billionaire ARC would be an understatement. And I binged it in a day! Fake dating is my current fave trope and it doesn’t get better than Pippa Grant.
So far, she's made every book a laugh-out-loud rom com and I find the steam level to be just right while definitely not something I’d recommend to Grandma. The dialog reads like a scene directly out of an Amy Sherman-Palladino show (Gilmore Girls, Bunheads, The Marvelous Mrs. show more Maisel) with quick and witty banter that often has your eyes flying across the page feeling like you’re watching a tennis match. And the internal monologue is hilarious as well.
Hayes is the perfect grumpy to Begonia's sunshine and I loved them so much that I was thrilled to find not one, but 2 BONUS epilogues in this book. And that's in addition to the standard epilogue! But Pippa also writes amazing side characters, and I'd be so happy if she decided to continue the story of just about any one of them from this book as well. They're still supporting characters, but written in a way that makes you want more of everyone. show less

This book was such a complete and welcome surprise! It was not the Hallmark Movie I though it would be from the description. It was so much more and most of all it was a book that kept me reading long into the night and catching extra moments during breaks at the office because I couldn't stop thinking about it.
This book was so much more than I expected. It was not just a touchingly sweet, beautifully spicy, and oh so humorous romantic comedy read, but it also just hit that the perfect show more amount of real emotion and vulnerability to make this go from being a standard beach read rom com to becoming a fully developed novel that would not let me go. This was not just a well written 'when will they get together?' story, but rather a delightfully funny romance about the journey that Lanie and Theo went through to find their Love Story. If you enjoy that weird blend of humor and emotions that a rom coms like 50 First Dates had that left you laughing one minute and sniffling the next, than you will want to check this book out. There is slapstick involving a bug swatter and an inflatable flamingo costume, a hidden identity, a secret crush, only one bed, discovering the small town bad boy is really a Cinnamon Roll, life long childhood besties, and a destination wedding at a Hawaiian Resort that is at least 20 years past its sell by date which provide the perfect counter points to the more dramatic moments that would not let me go which combined together made this truly a Destination Wedding To Remember! This is like a good chocolate chip cookie...a wonderfully sweet cookie with just the right cinnamon spice with a perfect semi sweet chocolate chips!
One Sentence Review : An original and humorous read filled with character you will love and others you will love to hate, Pippa Grant will transport you to a destination wedding that will leave you giggling and wondering what the Bad Boy is really feeling behind his twinkling eye, quirky laugh, and seemingly completely carefree personality.
I know I have already downloaded the nest two books in the Three BFFs and a Wedding and will be starting them soon because you cannot just leave this story untouched and smiling. show less

I’m giving myself “credit” for finishing this book, but I stopped shortly before the end.
The whole thing is the standard hyper sexual heteronormative nonsense that I was on board for because I needed silliness.
But then we got to the end where apparently the two of them needed to have a cathartic fuck IN A JAIL CELL. To be clear, this is the cell where our lily white heroine spent 3 nights for grand theft auto many years ago.
And honestly, even if I could ignore all the “I’m a show more billionaire so I’m gonna write a check so I can fuck my girlfriend in a jail cell” privileged fuckery, as a farm girl myself I am completely incapable of reading this scene after they talked about releasing on bail the man who was in there… for raping a pig.
To sum up:
- the “hero” in this book just paid off the local police chief to let out the guy who was in the cell
- that man was in jail for raping a pig
- they are now going to fuck in the cell
I was in it for the faux-hate sex and organic food jokes, but this is just not at all for me. show less

Okay, I had to think about what to write in this review, because I wasn't sure I could do it justice. This one is going to go into my "read it again" pile for sure. It's the Community of books. Meta, hilarious, quirky, irreverent, I mean... just awesome.
I kept quoting passages to my husband as I was reading, and he was laughing out loud. If he was a big reader, I'd sit him down and force him to read it - which in itself, is meta. If I had to give Pippa a letter grade for chapter first lines, show more it would be an A plus-plus. Again, meta.
I don't think I'm going to get through this review without referring back to the book or Community all the freaking time!
Settle in cupcake, and lemme tell you about [b:Stud in the Stacks|36477755|Stud in the Stacks|Pippa Grant|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1512644062s/36477755.jpg|58187916].
One day, man was created. He was given a loincloth, an ability to read, and a HQ Presents. He was named Knox. This Knox fella, he grew up loving these books. So much so that he devoted his life to making sure other people found joy through the stories of people finding love, finding hope, finding joy. It's a good life.
In that very same town, woman was created. She was... well, kind of a dork. She's called Parker. Growing up, Parker had a few stumbling blocks. Crap at babysitting, teased in high school, disastrous dating life, but she grew up to become a very successful businesswoman.
His tongue touches mine, and lights out, game over, everybody wins. My pussy clenches, I grip his solid ass, and I dive into kissing him back like he’s the cheese on my taco.
And that’s the last thought—rational or irrational—that I can manage—thank god, because cheese on my taco?
What is wrong—holy sex on a stick, did his tongue just—and his lips—and ohmygod—and he’s not even touching me there—and where did he learn—how can I—just ohmygod again.
His fingers brush the bare skin he’s exposed just above my jeans. Unicorns carrying tacos dance over our heads. His tongue curls around mine. My ovaries spontaneously combust into magical glittery fireworks. There’s a steel rod poking my belly, and I’m not sure if I’m still wearing pants or if they’ve completely evaporated off me.
I just know I want more.
You wouldn't think these two people would cross paths, let alone have a funny (yet fleeting) past together, and yet - they do!
Present day. Parker tries to purchase some time with Knox, and that's where our main story begins. Isn't that the way every couple meets?
I just have to say that Pippa Grant has a fangirl 4lyfe. I love me some RomCom, and [b:Stud in the Stacks|36477755|Stud in the Stacks|Pippa Grant|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1512644062s/36477755.jpg|58187916] was the kind of book that should set the standard for that genre.
I'm giving it FIVE autodorrexing scars. show less
