Summary: Bill Gates was a computer software inventor whom developed Microsoft in 1975. Bill became a billionaire a few year later and retired in 2008.
Personal Reaction: This was a very informational book on the timeline of Bill Gates. I felt it was a great way to show the reader how he built his wealth overtime. I learned a lot from this little book and will be looking for others like it.
Classroom Extension: Have the children create their own book of inventors. They can add information as show more they read another book.
Give each student a sheet of paper and have them come up with their own idea of an invention that would make life easier. Display their ideas around the room. show less

The Explosive World of Volcanoes with Max Axiom, Super Scientist (Graphic Library: Graphic Science series) by Christopher L. Harbo
This graphic novel describes the nature of volcanoes. It explains the science behind what makes volcanoes tick-- how they are formed and why they erupt. I have an audio CD of this book with two paper back copies as well. My students listen to the book during listening center in reading class to build background knowledge about land forms, which we were studying at the time in social studies.
Nice nonfiction shadow companion with photographs.
