Marie Forleo

If I'm honest, I couldn't even finish this book. About 1/3 through it just felt like that old Bob Newhart (Mad TV) therapist skit in which he just tells the patient to "STOP IT".

Don't get me wrong, there's probably plenty of good advice in here for people in a different situation than me. But it just wasn't resonating with me. Her advice was typical of what you see for people who "don't have time" or "don't have money" and it just felt repetitive. I'm not familiar with Forleo's podcast or show more TV or whatever ... I just recently saw this eBook on sale and it sounded like an interesting concept. Glad I didn't waste too much money.

I give two stars because it wasn't for me, but there's probably some worthy info for others in here. show less

I definitely think some of this book is dated, it has a very Sex and the City mindset. And I don’t know if Marie would write some of this advice today. A lot of it is common sense (don’t be negative about yourself, don’t have set ideas about men, lead an interesting life so you are an interesting woman) but some of it, especially the chapter about looking good I found pretty cringe.

An excellent new perspective to the personal development genre. I appreciated how the author included her own career/life experiences extensively in the book. It was quite practical and a helpful read.
