I was beyond thrilled to read a book set in my hometown of Little Rock (and recognized many locations and people whose names were changed). The descriptions of food were especially nice. A fast-paced courtroom thriller - I’m sure that many, many people will rave about it and it will be made into a movie.

That being said, as another reviewer stated it was “tightly plotted”… and also edited within an inch of its life. It read more like a screenplay, all the spark and life had been show more removed, and the characters were flat clichés. I would probably be harsher if it wasn’t written by a local author. show less
Met this author at a Moveable Feast in Pawleys Island. Fascinating speaker who is experienced in law and politics, his books reflect his background. I love the intrigue, the courtroom scenes, and the currency of the topics he tackles. Pretty easy read if you keep track of his characters.
I was hooked on this book from beginning to end. As the story unfolds there are many surprises. The clever ending was so good I wanted to stand up and cheer for the characters. It is definitely a thriller mystery. Congrats to Webb Hubbell for a well written, interesting fiction novel. Although I received this book free in exchange for a review, I wouldn't have been disappointed had I paid full price for it.

This is my first encounter with WEBB HUBBELL's series JACK PATTERSON. It grabbed me from the first chapter!
THE EAST END starts out with Jack in a cab being kidnapped and almost lynched upon his arrival to Little Rock. Welcome home Jack! My attention was held right up to the good ending.

Whether you are a seasoned Jack Patterson fan or a newbie like me, THE EAST END is a great read and a thrill ride!
What I really like is,being a newbie, I could read the book without that lost feeling of show more walking into the middle of an established series and set of characters.

I received this book free from goodreads in exchange for an honest review.
