Roderick Robertson

This is apparently a set of stories intended to help provide background and set the tone for the Glorantha setting of the Hero Wars (pen and paper) roleplaying game.

I've never looked into Hero Wars beyond this book, so I can't tell you much about how it fits into that setting. However, even that being the case I found a few of the stories pretty enjoyable independent of the setting.

I think possibly my favorite (and one my wife enjoyed as well) was "Morden Defends the Camp".
