There are two things wrong with the book. One is that the directions are not very good. If you know a lot about off-loom weaving you can generally figure out where the author is going, but if this is your first attempt at using beading techniques on non-standard objects, you need a better source. The second thing is that the majority of "found objects" were found in a jewelry catalog. There are some clever found objects (like fishing tackle) here and there, but it's not the majority of the book.
The Beaded Bracelet: Beadweaving Techniques & Patterns for 20 Eye-Catching Projects by Carole Rodgers
While these are mostly basic techniques, the designs make them look more complex. An excellent book for both beginning and intermediate beaders.
The book consists of several easy stringing and beadweaving projects suitable for beginners. The organisation of the project types could have been improved if both were grouped together rather than intermingled thoughout the book. The basic techniques were covered in the book and were largely clear except for the diagrams for eye and wrapped pins which did not illustrate the processes well enough.
What a great book for the beginning beader. It covers just about everything with easy instructions.
