This book clearly explains the "square making". Before I bought it, I checked it out of the library twice -- then decided I wanted it permanently!
Domino knitting creates knit diamond panes by decreasing in the middle of the work, pulling the straight rows of knitting into a diamond. Rather than sewing the panes together, each new diamond is cast on using the edge of another pane, already part of the growing garment. Because there are relatively few stitches, and thus weight, on the needles at any one time, this technique of knitting is less like to contribute to repetitive stress problems.
Hoxbro provides clear instructions, building show more from a very simple nine-diamond pot holder to ponchos and sweaters. The first diamond knitted uses only one color; subsequent diamonds incorporate more color.
Projects in the book include pot holders, shawls and scarves, pillow covers, table mats, coseys, caps, vests, and ponchos.
The book is well designed with both a table of contents and topical index. Most projects include written instructions, diagrams, and photos. show less
