
Leon Howell (1936–2009)

About the Author
Leon Howell graduated from Davidson College in North Carolina in 1957. He served in the Army in South Korea and was an editor for the newspaper Stars and Stripes. In the 1960s, he graduated from Union Theological Seminary in New York and became the New York-based communications secretary for the show more University Christian Movement. He was a freelance reporter in Singapore for four years before moving to Washington D.C. in 1975. He was the editor of the journal Christianity and Crisis from 1985 until it closed in 1993. He has also written books including Freedom City: The Substance of Things Hoped For (1969) and Asia, Oil Politics and the Energy Crisis (1974). He died on February 26, 2009 at the age of 73. show less
