The Snider: With Notes on the Enfield Rifle-Musket and the British Army's Search for a Breechloading Conversion by John Walter
This is a history of the Snider rifle, which was the first breechloader introduced into British service. It was initially produced by modifying the P1853 Enfield Rifle-Musket but eventually the Snider was also newly manufactured. While the book has only 96 pages, it is a large format book with three columns of text on most pages so it is not just a picture book. The author is a noted authority on firearms and the book reflects his expertise. The book is of high quality with many color show more photographs. show less
