I was given this deck by a friend who claimed that she found it difficult to read. Fair warning: the imagery within this deck is not perfectly synched with the traditional Ryder-Waite images, and so, yes, it can be tricky to read from a technical Ryder-Waite standpoint (and I do not say this as an admonition to my friend, who was perhaps one of the most instinctive readers I'd ever known). It is easier to understand if you consult the accompanying booklet, and keep the specified meanings show more outlined therein into account when reading.
Like any deck, you have to connect to it. I use this deck for personal problems, and it is the only one of my decks for which I routinely read reversals. It's just how it spoke to me when I began using it.
Beyond that, it is a beautiful and evocative deck, that may be difficult for a novice, but well worth the effort. show less
