Another book that I've had forever but have only recently gotten around to reading. In short, it's hard to imagine a better book being written about the B-47 though one imagines that someone who is in the market for a study of the Stratojet is going to wind up with the more recent work published by Crecy, if only due to availability. In these times when the travails of the F-35 program are a staple of the news it's good to be reminded that advanced aircraft programs suffering from a thousand show more screaming agonies are not exactly a novelty. I suppose the impression I'm left with in the end is how little "stretch" the B-47 seemed to have, though that might be a commentary on how quickly it was superseded by the B-52. show less
