These are mostly last-minute type gift projects in bulky wool. Some of them are items that I have made or might make, but not these particular patterns. There are some cute bird ornaments in bulky yarn; those would work for someone who has the yarn and the inclination. The gift bags would stretch out (knitted bags need to be lined or felted, especially if knit in bulky wool). There are a couple of traditional mid-20th century stockings, think Mary Maxim style intarsia, one is a santa. And show more there are some perfectly hideous oversized mantel mittens with fringey ribbon cuffs. Quite the variety. I'd suggest checking out the range of free patterns on Ravelry.com before buying the book. show less
Instructions for recreating 10 gorgeous log cabin quilts, accompanied by other techniques. Black & white photos and pretty succinct instructions make me wonder how straightforward recreating any of them will be but there are some really amazing variations. Worth a look just for a good read.
I recently found this book among my stash of knitting/crocheting supplies, and I immediately read through it hoping to find something to inspire me to crochet an afghan or shawl. I do not remember buying this book, or what on earth I could have been thinking when I bought it. This book of crocheted patterns features some of the ugliest afghans I have ever seen in my life. There was not one single pattern I wanted to try much less own as a finished product. It was as though the editors tried show more to match the most horrid colors together, and it was obvious from some of the photographs that the afghans were not especially well made. I definitely made a huge mistake with this purchase which I suspect I made online. I will be far more careful in the future. show less

Many lovely patterns; easy to follow patterns, very good illustrations, beautiful color pics. Keep pulling it off the shelf to use time and again.
