While there are definitely some projects in this book you'll want to stay away from (tin foil covered christmas ornaments, anyone?), and several that require special purchases (most people don't happen to have a half-dozen spare wheel rims lying around), there are also several projects with kid appeal (suitable for, say, an earth day craft program at the library) so this is a book worth looking through with that in mind. Didn't number this book, but I did read it in 2006. It's got a good selection of patterns for crochet projects, nice modern designs in clothing, baby things, and household items. I made a few of them for holiday gifts (in particular the golf club covers and the heartstring bag). I've got my eye on a few more projects from this book, as well.

I keep this book at hand while I'm crocheting. It has 19 wonderful stitch patterns in it that can be used to design your own crochet patterns for anything from a dishcloth to a lacy camisole or a thick warm afghan. This book is tried and true, I haven't come across an error in a pattern and the stitches are different enough from each other to make your purchase of this book very worth while. If I had ten thumbs they'd all be up!

I just finished a basic cardigan from this leaflet. The instructions were simple, the variety of patterns is wonderful, the sizing is classic - no 1980's shoulder-pads, and the sizes should fit almost anyone but the very young. They are knit in one piece from the neck down - adjusting the length of the body and sleeves is simple.
