Extremely useful to anyone with an interest in Italic (or just Etruscan) mythologies. I'd go so far as to call it vital for the non-expert: this book is damned useful, and comes with a CD-ROM with all the images in a nice large format. Thank you de Grummond!
This is a comprehensive and cohesive collection of articles on Etruscan religion. Included are appendices containing excerpts discussing Etruscan ideas, including the complete Brontoscopic Calendar, which is interesting but not necessarily compelling to the non-specialist or student. Still, so much content is packed into this volume, as well as lengthy bibliographies, that anyone interested in Etruscan civilization would do well to read this book carefully. I only wish the Glossary contained show more important Etruscan words, rather than just Greek and Roman, but even this is just a bonus. For it, one will have to look to something more dedicated to that pursuit. show less
