Pictures could have been pretty, if not so busy & poorly laid out (and anthropomorphic). Concept wonderful. But making snakes and crows and song sparrow eggs and 6 hawks all happy together in one rural back yard is ridiculous... almost as silly as the smiling dancing flowers.

If only Andrews had collaborated with me. Her concept and art, and my ideas of what to draw for each number, would have worked so well....

Btw, okc library had this as an ebook, but not on overdrive/libby; I had to show more create an Ebsco acct. to download it. You may not have access to it; I dunno. show less
This is a cute book that describes the beautiful things that are seen in nature during summer, such as daisies and many animals. This book can be helpful as in introduction for a science class and the teaching of the different things that are seen during different seasons.
