A little disjointed and too focused on the people involved in the work(at the expense of covering the work itself), but still a frequently interesting look at the current state of knowledge about archaea & other extremophiles. The topic itself is fascinating(a big piece of the overall picture of life that no one was aware of until recently), and has very little info available on it in the popular press, which makes this book a worthwhile resource.
Excellent book on the latest in prokaryote taxonomy and molecular biology. Friend mixes brief bios of the current players in molecular biology, adventure stories sampling bugs where no man has gone before and a not too clear exposition on the newest domain of life, Archea which may be the oldest organisms on earth.
Good, based on scientific studies, describes all types of animal communications and the similarities among them and with humans.
