This is a memoir written by a German Quaker who lived through the Hitler regime and years of the Soviet occupation in East Germany. She practiced conciliation, reaching out in a spirit of trust and respect, eschewing both fear and hate, and speaking the truth with love. It is interesting material, from a remarkable woman, but too brief to convey as much as we want to know.
A German Quaker writes simply of her life under Hitler’s regime and during the Russian occupation of East Germany, a life full of meaning and peacemaking. Translated by Florence Kite.
