This was really funny, fascinating, and sad if you’re a Ramones fan. It’s not a straight narrative, it’s just little bites of interviews with lots of people who worked and played with the Ramones (and friends, fans, and people who were in the scene) in a somewhat chronological order.
There was a lot more craziness that I expected, not in the "whoo party" way, in the "these are crazy people" way. It seemed like a fair picture though, and there’s good stuff in there too.
If you are a show more fan and you don’t already know about Johnny’s obnoxious right wing craziness you’re going to be sad. show less

Good book, but was it ever depressing! Most books about bands and travels come off like morning DJs self-congratulatory 'huhhuh'ing, but this book avoided that. I couldn't help thinking '3/4 of the band is dead!' while reading it, though.
