This is an example of what Osprey does best. It is a very focused history on the armies of medieval Burgundy. Most of the text is devoted to the Charles the Bold's armee d'ordonnance 1467-1477. Covering this ten year period, author Nicholas Michael devotes considerable attention to the organization, tactics, arms and armor of the ill-fated Burgundians. Gerry Embleton's illustrations are some of my absolute favorites, particularly gunners sculpting gunstones on Plate B.
An interesting sidelight of the greater conflict. The Burgundian Armagnac conflict is mentioned, as are many quotes from Monstrelet.
