The best single volume history of Friends written from an American perspective.
Elbert Russell, first dean of the Divinity School at Duke University, started, oddly enough, the Quaker Meeting in Durham, comprised mostly of Duke personnel. Oddly enough, I have just learned that Russell was my next door neighbor when I was a child.
The Historical Lecture delivered at NCYM (FUM) on 8/8/1945
