Amber Roberts

2.5 rounded up to 3. I feel like the author couldn't decide whether this was a Halloween or a Christmas book. It was set over Christmas, but didn't have the coziness? It was about something spooky but wasn't even a little bit spooky? The male main character had the barest hint of a personality and the female main character wasn't much more than books, anxiety, and stubbornness. I see glimmers of potential, but maybe this author just isn't for me.

DNF at 15%. Her abandonment issues are very strong and she doesn’t want to keep doing things to move herself forward. Her boss doesn’t like her suggestions to improve the bookstore she works in so she just stops making them and continues working there for the next 12 years.

There weren’t any sparks between Lex and James for at least the first several times they met. I just wasn’t feeling it at all.
