Lily ran away from an abusive home life. She finds work in a second hand store, and is befriended by the owner, Rachel. Lily flows through life, and men, on her good looks. She finally finds a sense of security, with a man who is very controlling of her.

I wasn’t happy with her character, but did understand her necessity, and struggle to survive.

Predictable, but OK for a beach read.

This story was very easy to listen to and I enjoyed it from start to finish.

Although Bryony's Travis was a little hard to believe, she is such a nice person and things turn out well for her most of the time.

Dan Travis is a second hand car dealer who has friends and collegues on the wrong side of the tracks but he wants his daughter Bryony to have chance to meet better people than he knows so he sends her to a catholic school.

While Bryony was helping out at her father's car dealership she show more meets James Hargreaves, the son of the Barrister and through him she meets people of the sophisticated set, but she finds out life on the other side isn't always better.

On leaving school she finds herself a job with an advertsing agency where she meets Nick who she finds out is friends with Toby, a Viscout she met through James.

Even when things don't go quite well for Byony - they do.
