The story of 2 men: 1 a highly moral & conscientious journalist who wants to tell the stories of the urban poor & expose corruption; the other a foundling raised into a life of petty crime who gets 1 big score and is, inevitably, tracked down & kills himself trying to get away. The journalist is exposed to temptation and almost falls, but the fate of the other man, destroyed by his urge for riches, sets the journalist & his wife back on the path of goodness & heroism. A show more romance. show less
Was this also a movie? Little episodic book, with tales of different people & how they got involved in the movement. Much of it focuses on a particular leader & the people he draws around him. There is terrorism and dogmatic violence, and little political training. Then at the end he indicates a transformation from urban terrorism to rural revolution. This is shown to happen spontaneously, based on the words of one person.
