Despite the 2005 (c), there's some pretty dated stuff in this collection—which can be kind of an issue, considering that half the point of the anthology is the study of "culture". Articles about '80s fitness culture, '90s heroin-chic fashion trends, and Baywatch's Pamela Anderson and her influence on the breast augmentation industry come to mind.

That being said, I found it a thought-provoking and interesting reader that I enjoyed myself, and my students seemed to respond well to the show more subject matter. show less
