I bought this book solely on the amazon reviews, and I have to say I was really disappointed. This is a badly written, boring book. There was such stilted conversation and weird info dump. The sex was not remotely sensual, so it felt graphic but mechanical to me. The intricate description of the house and it's electricity was just odd, the facts and bio about Van Morrison was just info dump - no one speaks like that in real conversations:

"So you want to know something about Van Morrison. show more Well, he was born August 31, 1945 in East Belfast Ireland, and belongs to an elite group of musical performers who started out in the sixties.
In his early days he was in a rhythm and blues group playing sax. He plays the alto sax, guitar and harmonica. He is one of the greatest singer-songwriters according to a 1993 Rolling Stone magazine and in January of 1993 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is a fiercely private man who reluctantly consents to interviews and is of the opinion that it is enough for the public to have his music.
As a singer Van’s natural talent is in the expressive quality of his voice and also in his phrasing. He’s also an accomplished band leader and arranger. Almost as important as his musical talent is his artistic integrity. He writes and performs from the heart and his product is not tampered with by record company executives. For Van music is a serious business….” P26

Now who talks like that? It’s like she typed out the back of a album cover. And this is only one sample. I can type out similar stuff about the town and the way the house was built. It’s just so stilted and odd. I was really disappointed and annoyed. This is one of the times where Amazon's format lets me down. If I had been able to read the first 10 pages, I would never have bought this book.
PS this is meant to be a paranormal romance. The sex scenes are worse than the Van Morrison stuff. Avoid this book.
