I read this to get a feel for Hebrew literature and Israeli writers in general so I can figure whose novels I'd like to read. From the 32 stories there was only one I didn't finish, it was just too weird and I had several favourites. I'll always read Amos Oz, and his short story 'Strange Fire' was excellent with a bizarre twist, Avraham Yehoshua's 'The Last Commander' about a group of army reservists out in the desert on a 3 week training - I just had to laugh and this was probably the best show more of all. show less
People, Palaces, Times, Issues, et al. Excellent quick source with bibliographies after each entry.
