I rated this so low because I feel the assault was so additional and unnecessary to the story as oftentimes it is. It just could have been part of her past and not written how it was and to be honest no actual victim would have just gotten over that and stayed and been perfectly okay around those guys. I did see the warning at the beginning which was appreciated but as a victim of this kind of crime, it was just not needed and unrealistic. Even with "instincts", she would have had trauma show more from it intentional or not.

As for the rest of the book, it was alright for smut but I feel like the guys acted almost as clueless as she did like no one has any idea how to be an actual person at all, like they are still humans in the 21st century it shouldn't be that hard.

Edit: The author at least redeems the guys some in the second book but I still feel like she doesn't understand how triggering what happened would be for a woman and how little things should be bothering her or setting her off.

This second book was at least better than the first. It defended the rights of the Women/Omegas. Past that, it's just a normal smutty werewolf book and fae book. This one is way more worth the read than the first and I feel you could jump in and read it on its own because it tells you the backstory of the first.

“Orphaned,” by Rachel Grey

When looking for closure on her mate’s difficult past leads them to her old farm leads to finding someone who accidentally goes to their world while on the run. Jade and her pact decide to help the young Fae girl, to keep her safe, even though her very presence threatens Jade’s Omega instincts. The pack is also dealing with invasions from other shifters into their territory and show more it changes the dynamics of the entire shifter community.

I loved this series so much. I liked the spicy reverse harem omegaverse tropes. Jade is my favorite character; she is so dynamic, and I loved reading in her POV’s. I didn’t like this book as much as the first one because there was a lot more fighting and stuff rather than the romance, which I loved about the first one, but it still was a really good book. 4 out of 5 stars.

Thank you for the ARC, Booksirens.

This is the Fae backstory to the Unnatural series and has some characters from Speechless and Orphaned. It's an okay story but I still have a problem with the amount of sexual violence this author decides to use in nearly every story as a plot point consistently.
