Howard Louis Conard (1816–1893)

Great classic furtrade biography. Wooten was largely based out of the southern colorado rockies, near present day Pueblo, in the late furtrade era. Much of the book is a local history of ranching and post furtrade days in the Pueblo vicinity. Still despite biographical license taken by Conard, this is an informative, book of the region, the era and of the furtrade.
