An excellent overview of the Anglo-American folk scene as it switched over to electric instruments and rock-influenced music. The author is very passionate, and it might now read as somewhat over-blown.

Brassens, homme libre by Jacques Vassal
Recently I rediscovered Georges Brassens' music that I first heard in the 60's. This time I not only listened to the music but understood the words. This biography satisfied my need to know more about this man so reserved when he was alive. Very comprehensive; includes detailed analyses of lyrics, poetry, music as well as bibliography and discography.
