The cover alone would have made me want this book. It's kidskin, and the title is in gold leaf (I took it to my favorite jeweler to verify that today). It was given as a Commencement gift, from relatives, or perhaps members of a congregation, or even teachers. Oliver Cromwell (Sr) was a remarkable poet, and essayist. I now must seek out this book to read it. It has poem or essay snippet for each day of the year
January Third:
The question is not, what is reasonable for a man to think about, show more but what he actually does think about. (The Professor at the Breakfast Table.)
(I have great joy; I've found two separate places where this is digitized, and online)
