My original plan was not to rate this book until I had completed the carving exercises. So the show more timeframe is just too long. Gertner's book is good, but suffers in comparison to Pye's book because the photos here are often in black and white, poorly focused, and obscuring the important point of the picture. I'm glad I bought my own (used) copy; but I'm more glad to have Pye's book. show less
