This is a great book to just spend the day looking at pictures. Each double page spread shows a different view of New Orleans. The first page shows historical photographs of the city from the past 50-60 years, while the second pasge shows a more recent photograph. One of the best sets to me is a comparison of a location near Lake Pontchartrain. The first picture shows a scene during Hurricane Hilda, the second from Katrina. I gave a copy of this book to my aunt, and she told me stories of show more her life when she would look at the old photos. I would use this in a geography/ history class, getting my students to find out what has happened over time to change things between the pictures. show less
