Bought this for a buck out of a discount rack, cause it looked like stupid fun and what's a buck. Better than expected, legitimately intriguing sci-fi/fantasy backstory, and now I gotta hunt down the rest of the series so so much for cheap.

I was introduced to the Harbingers via the Faith spin-off title, which I love and adore. So I was really excited to see that this was available for review. Unfortunately, this just did not do it for me. I liked the diversity in the cast, but the plot was all over the place. This could, of course, just be because I wasn't really familiar with what had happened in this universe prior to the Faith title starting. But I spent the entire comic feeling like I was missing huge chunks of plot and show more could not catch up.

Despite the "Vol 1", this is not a title for newcomers to the Harbinger universe. I had hoped it would be a good place for a newbie like me to start, but I guess not.

This was a really cute and lighthearted read! Perfect for fantasy lovers suck in the real world dreaming of adventure. Very RPG. Lots of really funny easter eggs scattered around the pages.

I thought this was a fun book. It makes me want to read the others in this series. There's a lot of puke in this volume, fair warning. The style reminds me a bit of Venture Brothers. I received this from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
