It is a boring read but still author did a commendable job in gathering all the data (keeping in mind the fact that such kind of information is not easily available in Pakistan) about the military's economic ventures. Ms. Ayesha explains various kinds of facades that the military adopted throughout history of Pakistan to strengthen itself politically and economically.
After more than a decade of its publication, the predictions of the author still hold true. Military in Pakistan is still the show more most powerful institution and despite allowing 9 years of democracy, the tradition of strong-arming (sometimes colluding with) the politicians continues. show less

Overall, an educating read. But one that doesn't leave impressions as far as quality of research and analysis is concerned. Seems like an hurriedly published work.
