I love the introduction of all the new supernatural characters, but i just felt that for a novella, too much was happening to fast. The storyline was't jumpy but it felt "overstuffed". I felt the author has a much bigger story to tell and should consider turning it into a novel.

The prologue to this story was intense and quick paced but I never felt it was totally explained. In fact, I felt this story was a part of a novel or series of novels waiting to be told. I felt more backstory, explanation, character development and relations within the story were missing or needed to be added to make this a complete story. I did feel there was potential for this if more is added and a series is eventually provided. The writing was good…there just needed to be more.

This was the first in a series and therefore, needed some world building. However, it was not and easy world to understand. There were too many conflicting paranormal clans fighting over one woman who was unaware of what all the forces meant, as was I. It took almost to the end for things to fall into place. Do not think I will read any more by the author in this series.
