This is a great read for mythology fans. It's not as action packed as RR but the characters and the writing is great. The story follows Clo (or Clotho the Spinner) The youngest of the 3 fates from Greek Mythology. The interweaving of other stories and the relationship between you three fates is masterly told. The story starts out as your average "child has to find her mysterious father" but then gets blown wide open when she comes to a strange and magical island where she meets her grandmother Atropes (the oldest fate). The story then shifts focus onto Clo's mother Lachesis who also mysteriously disappeared but for different reasons. This story is just so creative with the source material. I loved it.… (more)
