David Attwooll

David Attwooll was born in 1949. He began his career in publishing at Oxford University Press in 1970. He joined Century Hutchinson in 1989 and launched Helicon in 1992. He sold the business in 2002 and set up Attwooll Associates, a licensing and consultancy business that has serviced more than show more sixty publishing clients. Attwooll Associates won the Independent Publishers' Guild GBS Award for Services to Independent Publishers in 2009 and 2011. He became the chair of Liverpool University Press in 2004. His first full collection of poetry, The Sound Ladder, was published in April 2015. His work appeared in several magazines and anthologies. He was one of the winners of the 2013 Poetry Business pamphlet prize with Surfacing. He also published two pamphlets entitled Otmoor and Ground Work. He died after succumbing to Erdheim-Chester Disease in 2016 at the age of 67. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
