I have always found it curious that the right have claimed Jesus. If one reads the synoptic gospels, it seems self evident that he was something of a subversive but, if it happened far enough in the past, it is permissible to ignore this character trait.
This book, written by one of the new joint leaders of the Green Party of England and Wales, reclaims Jesus for those of us who want change. Welcome back, Sir: I always thought your sympathies were with us.
As ever, with our Lord, it is perhaps show more not as cut and dried as that sounds. Whilst the ground breaking policies of Jesus are given a left wing slant, the method of attaining them does not gel with usual revolutionary techniques. There is a real opportunity for a victory for humanitarian beliefs. The question is will we be brave enough to take it? show less
