About the Author

Meir Ben-Dov participated in the largest archacological excavations carried out in Israel in the 1960s, including those at Ramat Rahel, Ashdod, Arad, Masada and the Judean Desert caves. In 1966 he headed the excavation of the Belvoir Crusader fortress at Kokhav Hayarden. He was also in charge of show more the restoration work at this site.
