Interestingly a lot of these works were transcribed to these paper scrolls by Chinese monks working alongside their Indian counterparts and while almost all these documents in India were destroyed completely by Muslim Invaders (The library at Nalanda is supposed to have burned for many days), fortunately a lot of them have survived in China. From China, Zen spread to Japan where it is the pre-eminent religious force today.… (more)
