I need to pay more attention when I select a book in the giveaways section. I expected this to be nonfiction, and, while based on history, it is definitely fiction. In addition, it is fiction meant for young people, which I decidedly am not. I did read it, in spite of all this. If I were 50 years younger, I think I would have enjoyed this book very much. Young Johnny Adams is on a ship with his father, going to show more France to seek help with the war for independence. In addition, there's a secret mission that he doesn't know about, but hears some sailors discussing when they don't know he's listening. Young Johnny and his friends eventually save the day in the manner of all young people's literature and everyone, except the bad guys, goes home happy. If you're a late elementary school or secondary school student, I think this book would be a good read. show less

Not much to it but it was a fun read. Braddock discusses the thought process and how a spy analyses situations using a confrontation with a druggy on a train as a frame of reference (which happened to him on the to a covert meeting). This is a Kindle single so it can be read easily in one sitting and in less than an hour.

The brevity of this guide to thinking is a guide! Spies can't be slow thinkers, as the case study shows. This book has not been fluffed out to make it longer - refreshing and good. Interesting if DADA is unknown to you.

If you change the name to "A Scientists Guide" you have the first chapter of every science class textbook. The only difference is you replace report with action.
It's only 43 pages long and it repeats itself a lot.
