This romance story is set at university and involves Elle, a geek and overachiever, and Aaron, the most popular sports king and womanizer. As Elle is tired of being seen as always serious and Aaron wishes to appear as more of a serious person, they make a deal and start fake-dating, and we all know where that leads...
The premise is somewhat of a classic, but the execution is lacking. I never felt like I really got to know these two characters, their actions - especially Elle's - are quite show more often inexplicable, the language is often sexist without being put in perspective, and most of the time I was just wondering what was going on. Moreover, although usually I don't have a problem with books set in the 2000s, this just felt incredibly dated.
Another point is the language, which is very repetitive.
I feel so sorry for writing such a negative review about a self-published book, but there is hardly anything positive - the only good thing was that it was a short and easy book to read while being jet lagged, and there are a few cute scenes when Elle and Aaron start to spend more time together. show less
